Glisten Trick’s latest offering - the single “NO COMEDOWN” - was born in the warped arc of their early recording sessions and tilts from deep narcotic groove into haunted monastic drone. The hypnotic sub throb sweeps beneath laconic vocals that offer a glimpse into their chaotic world of chemicals and despair: “Sleep on the beaches, do drugs in the car, wander dark forests, love - forget what we are.” No one here is coming down.
A warped arc of extortion, theft and a parting of ways drove the creation of “Death Cult Rainbows”. Tracks were stolen and blackmail ensued, so we built our own tracking setup, and now no one can fuck with us.
“Death Cult Rainbows” was the first song completed in our own studio. It’s loosely inspired by Suicide, with that kind of glitchy synth part, and lyrically it touches on the destructive nature of certain relationships—the juxtaposition between what people say and what they do, and the cult-like devotion with which we swallow it and call it love.
